The Journey to Becoming is in Un-becoming

I talk about how I want you to grow into your Higher Self. What does that really mean? Who is your Higher Self? I believe that I am embodying my Higher Self when I am connected to the deepest parts of my being and only using energy of my highest potential.

There’s a famous quote by author Paulo Coelho that goes:

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place".

Read it again. How does it make you feel? When I first read this, I was already fully immersed in exploring what spirituality is all about and I was no longer who I used to be; but, had no idea who I was at that point, either.

That’s when I realised..Paulo Coelho is right!

When we were children, we had the freedom to live, play and dream, as we pleased. Life was a breath of fresh air. As we grew older, we were told what to do. Before we knew it, our beliefs were programmed by our teachers, our friends, our families, and the communities that we belonged to. Now, even social media controls our beliefs. When did we take a second to ask ourselves, “Are these my beliefs? Or am I accepting them because I was told it’s right?’?

This is what’s known as “limiting beliefs”. They stop us from widening our horizons and growing on levels that we imagine for ourselves. It makes us fear success, failure, rejection, not being good enough, being unlovable, not being worthy. It makes us fear greatness.

So, wanting to find out who I truly am meant that I had to challenge my belief system and decide which beliefs were my own and which I simply accepted because it was easier not to challenge it. And a challenge it was. Still is. It’s a process. The reward of meeting your Higher Self and living your truth makes it all worth it.

The secret sauce to living authentically and connecting to your true self is in un-becoming.

Un-becoming everything you were told to be and living your life on your own terms.

Here is a list of journal prompts that you can use to help you start your journey to un-becoming:

· What is getting in the way of me living the life that I want?

· What do I feel incapable or unworthy of?

· Where do my beliefs mostly come from?

· What would I do if I believed I was capable of anything?

· What can I do to help build my belief in myself?

So, grab a journal and a pen and get ready to meet your Higher Self!

With gratitude,

Andrea
